Gift Idea: Handprint Calendar

Last year I made a photo calendar from Shutterfly as a gift for the grandparents. This year I wanted to try something a little different. I liked the idea of a hand print calendar, but I didn't want just plain white paper. I wanted something with a little pizazz. I found this make your own calendar kit at Michael's for about $15 but then used a 40% off coupon. (Later this week I will share some other activities we are doing with some of the extra paper that came with the calendar.)

I worked with the kids and we made what I think turned out to be a very cute calendar, starring their hand and footprints, for grandma! I found my inspiration for the pictures here and here. If you have any questions about how we made any of the hand or footprints let me know. We gave the gift to my mom this weekend so she can start putting her 2010 appointments in it and I think she liked it!

Thanks everyone! I love how it turned out and the kids really enjoyed making it - though they were super ticklish as I was painting their hands! :)
