Coffee filter art

This is another art project from my son's preschool, though we did use to do a lot of art with coffee filters at my old center. This particular project required:

1 sheet of construction paper
leaf stencil (cookie cutter, stencil, or just free hand a leaf shape!)
1 coffee filter
squirt bottle of water

Aidan was really excited about his art project. First they colored the coffee filter with markers. Then the children sprayed the filter with water to make the marker colors bleed together nicely. Once dry, the teachers simply taped the coffee filter to the back of the construction paper that they had cut the leaf shape out of and wha-la! Pretty stained glass art project. Or it would be if we had any sun around here! :)

Cute! We used to do something similar with baby wipes - only difference was they were already wet. I'm glad I found your blog - so great to have some new ideas!

Great idea! I purchased the wrong size coffee filters so I was looking for a way for the kids to use them! THANKS! If I use this, I'll link it back to you on my blog if you don't mind.
