So I saw these at Walmart in the craft section and just had to pick them up. They have a bunch of these little painted wooden animals in the craft section. I grabbed 5 monkeys so the kids could have a visual as we sing "5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" or "5 Little Monkeys Swinging from a Tree". Then they can take one away with each verse and I can ask them how many are left before we sing the next verse.
I attached a magnet to the back of each one so we can use them as fun magnets on the fridge when we are not using them for our songs.
And since they were only 50 cents I let each kid pick one out that they wanted as their special magnet. Ella picked the ladybug.
Aidan picked a giraffe.
I think these might be cute framed as a decoration in one of the kids rooms. Now I just have to find the right frames!

What a great idea! I see these all the time. I think I will get 5 frogs for the song, "5 Little Speckled Frogs."
These are so cute. I just wish our walmart had a lot of them. They have the ladybugs, but that's it for animals. Hunter would love to have the monkeys for that song and the frogs for that song since we also have the book. I will just have to check out other walmarts when we are there.
I need help!! I've bought these before and used to decorate mirror frames for my son's room. I absolutely love them, but unfortunately we're now living overseas - 1000's of miles from Walmart and I can't find them online. Would you happen to know if they're sold elsewhere? I was thinking that they may have had stickers on the back, with a company name maybe? I'm about to start decorating a nursery for my daughther who will be arriving in a few months and I just love the idea of these animals.
I appreciate any help anyone may be able to offer.
