Dinosaur Prints

We have lots of little zoo animals, dinosaurs, bugs and snakes, most of which we got at the One Spot (dollar area) at Target. I always have to take a quick peek in that area every time we go to Target. You never know what kind of fun things you will find!

Does your little one have a collection of little plastic dinosaurs or other animals? Maybe they would like to see what their little footprints would look like marching across a piece of paper!

What you need:
Paint
Small plastic animals
Paper/construction paper

I just put a couple of paint colors on a paper plate, gave Aidan a couple of dinosaurs and watched as he dipped their feet in paint and helped them stomp across the paper.

If you do happen to go the dinosaur route, a couple of our favorite dinosaur books are:

Very simple text, but both my 3 year old and my 1 year old love it!

We love all of the Usborne touchy feely books!

Any of the "How Do Dinosaurs..." by Jane Yolen are great, just depends on the specific lesson you would like to focus on (colors, cleaning, sharing, school, doctors, etc.)

And one more thing I just have to share as we are talking about dinosaurs, one of Aidan's favorite little rhyming songs that I found awhile ago on Preschool Rainbow:

I'm a Mean Old Dinosaur
(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a mean old Dinosaur
(Make a mean face, the kids make the cutest mean faces)
Big and Tall
(Gesture hands big and tall )
Here is my tail, here is my claw.
(Gesture hands behind your back for tail and make claw hands)
When I get all hungry
(rub your tummy)
I just growl
(have the kids exaggerate the grrroooowwwlll)
Look out kids I'm on the prowl.
(Here I tickle each one of the tummy and they all giggle)
